Sebastian Man Arrested After Causing Disturbance at Walmart

According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, a 37-year-old man was arrested Monday after causing a disturbance and refusing to leave Walmart in Vero Beach.

Eric Lemon Broomall, of Sebastian, was upset due to the lack of open registers and was asked repeatedly by Walmart employees to leave the store.

“I was flagged down by Walmart employees stating that there was a white male cursing and causing a disturbance due to a lack of open registers,” the deputy said.

“I then walked over to Broomall and informed him he needed to leave the store. Broomall stated to me that he was not going to leave and that the Walmart employee did not have the authority to make him leave,” the deputy added.

The deputy told Broomall repeatedly to leave the store, but he was argumentative and stated he was not leaving Walmart, the affidavit said.

“I then told Broomall on the fourth time that he had the option of leaving the store or going to jail. At this time, Broomall stated, ‘Jail,’” the deputy stated in the affidavit.

Broomall was placed into custody and transported to the Indian River County Jail.
