Police in Tennessee are looking for a woman who was so furious with the wait time at a Burger King restaurant that she climbed over the drive-thru window and opened fire on employees.
The impatient customer was waiting for her food outside the Memphis eatery last Tuesday when she got out of a car and began arguing with workers, authorities said in a statement over the weekend. The woman, who was a passenger in a mid-sized sedan, went back to the vehicle and grabbed a black handgun, according to police.
Surveillance photos released by the Memphis Police Department show the suspect extending her upper body through the Burger King window and pointing the weapon toward the staff. Police said she fired several shots but did not strike anyone.
“The workers fled from the gunfire through the rear door of the business and were unharmed,” authorities said.
The unidentified shooter ran back to the car and the male driver took off before police arrived on the scene. The car was described as a four-door gray sedan, but the make and model were not immediately known.
Authorities urged anyone with information about the suspect to contact Memphis police or Crime Stoppers of Memphis and Shelby County as soon as possible. The investigation is ongoing.
