TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Tulsa police say a couple’s first date ended in a chase and an arrest overnight.

Just after midnight, an officer tried to pull over a pickup truck near 6th and Birmingham. The truck eventually stopped at the University of Tulsa campus, police say.

A man and a woman were in the truck and had apparently met on a dating website. It was their first date, according to the woman.

TPD says it turns out the man, identified as Brandon Hembree, is wanted in Tahlequah.

Police say Hembree was incoherent when they arrested him, but it’s unclear if he was under the influence.

Hembree is facing eluding after a formal conviction, obstructing an officer, possession of marijuana, and failing to stop at a stop sign charges, in addition to being held without bond for the warrant in Cherokee County where court records show five different traffic and/or drug cases against him.

He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail.
