What started out as road rage turned violent after a man open-fired at another driver Sunday in Dearborn.

The unharmed victim, Aboudy ElHadi, recorded the incident on his cellphone. He captured the other driver shooting at his truck, leaving several bullet holes burrowed on the side of his car.

Dearborn police said they received a tip Tuesday, and special operations officers located the person-of-interest. Officers arrested the suspect, who’s now awaiting formal charges from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.

The incident happened around 5:40 p.m. near Warren Avenue and Greenfield Road.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said, “As a result of our excellent partnership with local media outlets and with the cooperation of concerned citizens, a swift arrest was made and our communities are safer.”

The victim, ElHadi, told WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) he’ll no longer engage or yell at “bad drivers.”

“Do not engage with them, do not even talk with them,” he said. “What I did, I know it was wrong, but I insisted to take that video. I wanted to take that video, so this guy should be off the street.”
