Across the country, major brands, celebrities and athletes are urging their fans to get out and vote, as the November 3 election is just around the corner.

Texas native Willie Nelson is encouraging his fans, too, by releasing an animated music video for his song “Vote ‘Em Out.”

The song was originally released in 2018 rally for then-Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke in Austin, Texas as he ran against longtime Republican senator Ted Cruz, as reported by Stephen Daw at Billboard.

In the music video, cartoon characters are seen casting their ballots, which Nelson calls “the biggest gun we’ve got.”

The country artist sings: “If it’s a bunch of clowns you voted in. Election day is comin’ ‘round again. If you don’t like it now, if it’s more than you’ll allow. If you don’t like who’s in there vote ‘em out.”

While it’s not stated explicitly in the song, you might be able to tell who Nelson is singing about.
