Fridays are great for many reasons but I love them because they’re when I eat what I like to call “fun food.” Sure, you can eat what you want no matter the day, but while I’m typically too tired and rushed during the week make anything of substance, on Fridays I might get a little spicy and order some lunch in or make a fancy pasta dish for dinner. If you’re still looking for your fun food today, Burger King has you covered AND it’ll go to a good cause.
For today only, Friday, September 25, Burger King will be letting customers “pay what you want” for a Whopper by using the BK App. Best of all, 100 percent of the donations will go to No Kid Hungry, a national campaign aimed at ending childhood hunger. Donations to the fund will be distributed through the BK McLamore Foundation.
To get the Whopper, you’ll have to go to the BK app, find the specific Whopper promotion, select how much you’re going to pay for it, and then check out. It’s a perfect way to get a fun lunch or dinner on the go while benefitting a very worthy cause. And if you have a few extra bucks lying around, well, maybe you pay more than it would cost. I dunno!
In case you’re reading this after Friday, you’re just not in the mood for a Whopper, or you want even more ways to help, you should know this is just a part of No Kid Hungry’s “Dine, Shop & Share” initiative which offers deals to customers that directly benefit the fund. You can find a full list of promotions from places like Denny’s, Hormel Foods, Noodles & Company, and more here. You can also donate directly to No Kid Hungry here.
