Woman who died in crash posted speeding clip saying ‘Imma kill it on the high way’

A woman who died in a horror smash had posted an Instagram video of herself speeding in her sports care moments before.

Stephanie Angelica Vasquez posted several clips, showing off her speedy 2020 Toyota Supra and captioning one video with the words “Imma kill it on the high way”.

This was before the 25-year-old mum smashed into a Honda Accord on Wednesday evening, killing herself and her 35-year-old passenger Jonathan Chakras.

The driver of the Accord, 40-year-old Heriberto Santos Gonzalez, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Two other men were also said to have suffered serious injuries. They have not been named by police.

The crash took place in Gaithersburg, Maryland, US. Vasquez was from Kensington. Mr Chakras was killed in the passenger seat of the sports car.

Montgomery County Department of Police said officers went to the scene at 6.37pm.

Vasquez smashed into the Accord as it attempted a left turn from Muddy Branch Road onto eastbound West Deer Park Road.

Police said in a statement on Thursday that they believe Vasquez had been speeding and that this contributed to the crash.

There was also damage to three parked cars.

Vasquez, who is reportedly a mother, was due in court today on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, transporting a loaded handgun in a vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, WJLA reports.

While a police investigation is ongoing, crowdfunding appeals have been set up for both Vasquez and the victims of the crash.
