A groom was blasted in the chest by gunfire on his wedding day in eastern Texas, according to a local report.
Investigators believed that an invitee to the wedding party shot the groom during an altercation and then fled, KTRK-TV reported.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office Captain John Shannon said in a tweet early Friday that the groom was airlifted in critical condition, and witnesses were not cooperating with authorities.

Officials said the groom was expected to survive, according to KTRK.
Harris County sheriff’s deputies found the wounded groom outside a residence about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, KTRK reported.
