By the time they wrapped up last month in Philadelphia, Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band had played to nearly 870,000 fans at 71 shows — and grossed $97 million along the way.
That was strong enough to make the Detroit rocker’s Roll Me Away outing the No. 3 North American tour of 2019, behind the Rolling Stones ($178 million) and Elton John ($157 million), according to data released Friday afternoon by the trade magazine Pollstar.
Billed as his final visit to the markets on the itinerary, the Roll Me Away Tour included six hometown shows for Seger and company at DTE Energy Music Theatre in June.
Seger’s tour gross placed him ahead of pop stars such as Pink, Ariana Grande and the Jonas Brothers.
The Stones’ chart-topping figure came from just 16 stadium shows in 14 cities, part of the No Filter Tour that was delayed and rescheduled as Mick Jagger underwent surgery to replace a heart valve.
Elton John placed second with his ongoing Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which will return to Little Caesars Arena in May for a pair of dates.
